SK Gaming re-enters League of Legends

One of the oldest organizations in esports, SK Gaming, will officially re-enter League of Legends.

According to a report by Riot, SK Gaming will participate in the upcoming Premier Tour, a Germany-exclusive tournament-circuit organized by Riot themselves, rather than the ESL.

SK Gaming, also known as Schröt Kommando, used to own one of the most successful European League of Legends teams, before dropping their League squad in January 2016 after a failed promotion to the European Challenger Series.

Players like nRated, Ocelote, FORG1VEN, Svenskeren and current Roccat coach Fredy112 used to play for the team.

SK Gaming also participated in Worlds 2012 and Worlds 2014.

One of the most popular moments associated with the team is the legendary xPeke backdoor at IEM Katowice:

There has been no information on who will be on SK Gaming’s roster. However, the Premier Tour’s rules dictate that at least 3 out of the 5 participating players must be from the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region.
