For the first time in the existence of MSI, SKT will not participate in the tournament

Ever since the inauguration of the Mid-Season-Invitational tournament in 2015, SKT T1 has participated in every of the yearly iterations. This streak has officially stopped however, as SKT will not participate in this year’s MSI tournament.

Only the winner of each region’s Spring Split are eligible for entry – with SKT losing to KT Rolster earlier, they have no more chances at grabbing the 2018 LCK Spring Split title. The winners of major regions automatically qualify, whereas the winners of minor regions have to go through a Play-In-Stage.

SKT was able to win two out of three MSIs they’ve attended thus far. The only MSI they didn’t win was the first one in 2015, where they lost the Final to EDG with a 2-3 match score.
