After 8 years within the space, Millenium have disbanded their League of Legends Division

Team Millenium

One of the oldest European esports organisations and historic League of Legends teams, Millenium, has officially dissolved their League of Legends division.

The team was originally formed in June 2011, when Team Millenium bought the roster of Against All Authority.  For context, Fnatic’s and Team SoloMid’s League of Legends teams were formed roughly two months before Team Millenium entered the space as well.

Their original roster featured players like YellowStar or sOAZ.

Millenium participated in the 2014 EU LCS Spring and Summer Split but eventually got relegated against the Unicorns of Love at the end of 2014. The team went on to be a frequent contender of the EU Challenger Series.

Since the disbandment of the EU Challenger Series, the team competed in the French Open Tournament Circuit, where they eventually qualified for the European Masters Playo

Over the course of the team’s history, many popular players of today competed wearing Millenium’s jersey: The team was a crucial part of upstarting the careers of Hans Sama and Djoko, Perkz also competed for the team for a short while.

An interview with 16 year old Hans Sama, playing ADC for Team Millenium:

When Korean Midlane legend Ryu transferred from KT Rolster to Europe for the first time, he originally joined Millenium in October 2014, before being picked up by H2k in January 2015.

Even though the team has struggled for competitive success, Millenium’s work towards improving the European League of Legends scene has been noteworthy.

The team will now focus on Rainbow6 and Fortnite, according to their official press release.
