Just two weeks after G:loot, the company behind the GLL, announced they successfully secured a 10 million euro investment, they now announced that the first actual season of the Global Loot League will feature a $50,000 USD prize pool.
Besides the AfreecaTV PUBG League and OGN’s PUBG Survival Series in Asia, the Global Loot League is the first and only PUBG league format in the West.
“Last year we entered a partnership to explore the world of PUBG. We saw the potential with the early adopters, quickly realizing this game had a clear potential to become one of the biggest esports titles in the world. It turns out we were right about that.”
– Simon Sundén, Head of esports
The Global Loot League Season 1 will officially kick-off on February 14 and will feature one weekly match day until April 21, followed by the Grand Finals. Further, the tournament will run separate competitions for EU and NA with 40 squads each, divided into two lobbies.
